I need to replace the nylon cord on m bow and stern carry handles. How do I separate the grey and black sections to access the inside when it comes time to re-knot the new cord? I see two tiny holes underneath- should I push something skinny in to separate them? I tried a flatheaad screwdriver to separate the handle, but stopped after my hands and the hull get gouged. Thanks!

Hi there,

The handle doesn't come apart. To replace/remove all you have to do is 'thread' one end of the handle through the loop of handle-cord that's attached to the metal padeye on the hull.

It's a bit of a squeeze, but doable.

Cheers,

Mike.

Actually decided to get the Wilderness Systems (Harmony) handle; 2 for the price of 1 Hobie and the handle comes apart to replace the cord.
