Just a couple of questions
1. How does the thermoform hull compare to the rotomold in terms of compression and puncture strength . I am asking because I see all these people (including very experienced anglers) loading their Hobie's in truck beds on there keels with and without padding and I have to assume that they know what they are doing. I am asking because I fish alone most of the time and reloading/strapping in my kayak from the lake would be easier this way. Also I was thinking about occasional use on a slow river where it is certainly possible that i could hit a rock

2)When repairing the dent on my kayak do i have to worry about hot water getting on the seam and softening it. I didn't want to repair the dent and weaken the seam between the top and the bottom of the boat.

thanks

The boats are quite stiff.

The seam is melted together and VERY strong. Not an issue.

Some people don't worry about a dent here and there I guess. The Passport sits pretty well on the ground, so likely OK. Best long term storage is upside down resting on the rails.

Matt, are the Passport hulls made of HDPE as well? Just want to know in case my friend needs some plastic welding repairs done in the future. Thanks.
