Post subject:  Disclaimer

That disclaimer text has been there for as long as we have had kayaks on the site. I added the kayak surf link without even considering it. Yes, I suppose it is a bit of "do as I say... not as I do". You have to be experienced to access rough conditions, so for most... the disclaimer is good information.

Surf and rapids can vary widely as you can tell by the image someone posted of the 50 foot wave. I can see where the Outback would not be suitable for some of the rivers in West Virginia. Looks like a good disclaimer to me. Have you ever surfed any boat wakes yet?

Hey Rinky.. :)
Boat wakes are fun... We have a lake here that has many narrow bays/canyons out of the wind that draw wake boarders and skiers and make many big wakes. I have spent hours riding the wakes near shore around points and coves its a blast.
I posted those big wave shots a while back of Mavericks which is not far up the coast from the Bean Hollow incident . We can have huge winter surf here on the coast that would not be safe to go out in. If I drive to the coast and back I will usually go surfing instead. The Hobie surf yak video ( at SAN-O ?) does look like fun though
