I would like to be able to use my small trailer winch to secure the bow to the trailer on recovery at ramps .. and also to use the winch to pull the kayak up onto the trailer .. if that is possible without damaging the kayak. I have discounted using the bow lift handle as it doesn't seem like it would take the repeated abuse .. same with running a line through the two forward lifting handles with a "sling" that would connect at the bow .. seems like a lot of pressure would be on the single forward screw on each handle. Any recommendations on HOW to rig a sling that can be used (i.e. via the bow seat mount??). Any input and recommendations highly recommended. Thanks in advance. Just picked up a new Oasis .. beautiful boat.

As long as the hull is able to slide easily onto the trailer I don’t see a problem using the front pad eye. It’s really no different to dragging the hull by hand up onto a pontoon/boatramp etc, which I’ve been doing for years with no problems. The pad eye screws into a molded-in brass fitting, not just the plastic.
Just be careful when winching that the hull doesn’t get caught up somewhere, which could allow the winch to over stress the fitting.

Thanks very much .. I wasn't sure if the pad eye was just screwed into plastic or if there was a backing plate of some type. Good news. Appreciate the information.
