I have a 2008 outback that's leaking thru the front hatch. Which material seal should I use. And is it 4 ft length if I order some? Ty

Last time out I had many gallons of water inside the yak when I got to shore. I spray water from the garden hose to test for leak and the other hatches seem fine. The front hatch had 2 parts that came apart. Hopefully a seal is the only problem

The older boats had a seal that was glued to the part that clamps to the hull lip. The new seals are molded as one piece.

71301001 Trim Loc top molded seal. Get 5' then trim to fit.

Also, there is a new seal material that can be added to the lid. It is used on the Pro Anglers.

71707004 FRONT HATCH SEAL, PA12/14/17T

This adds a foam rubber strip that the lip's seal sets against. It handles uneven fits a bit better than just the single lip seal.

Ultimately, the large hatches are not water tight. They are more designed to shed water away from the seal. If you submerse the hatch, it can leak.
