Just bought a demo model 2014 Hobie Mirage Sport which I will use primarily for fishing. When using the mirage drive and not using the paddle where is the best place to stow or rest the paddle? Maybe I can add something?

Also will the plastic paddle that comes with the kayak float? Am thinking of adding short section of a pool noodle if to float it if dropped in the water and for visibility.

This is the stowed position. It floats, but you should tether it to your boat in case you drop it. Same with the Mirage Drive.

Congratulations on you new Hobie! 8)

???

The first time I went for a swim in the ocean a rip current took me out and I said what the heck is this about, and on the way back in a small 2 foot wave caught me and slammed me into the earth and I said what the heck is this about. So when I read this article.... https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/port-starboard.html ...and learned that most sailors are right-handed, I realized that my paddle goes on the starboard side.
