I have a 2003 Hobie Mirage Outback. The sail reciever tube where the sail mast goes in is broken from the bottom. It's not the kind that has the black tube but it looks like it was molded originally in the molding process. I am wondering if anybody knows how to repair this and what it entails. Any information would be helpful. Thank you. |

That is a roto molded plastic hull correct? I have had great luck on fiberglass using West Marine 6 10 epoxy. Not sure if it will bond with the rotomolded hulls however. |

May have popped off the nub in the floor of the hull. Easy. Unscrews from the hull using a large / long flat head screwdriver inserted in the top and reaching to the bottom of the fitting. Simply unscrew (threads are at the top just inside the deck area). You can re set over the nub and screw back in. If broken... The part is inexpensive. 84550001 MAST RECEIVER - MIRAGE KAYAK S US$ 13.29 You might have to trim the length. Just copy what you had and cut off the bottom if needed. |

It doesn't have a nub on the floor. It was all molded in one piece the floor, tube and top. |

This technique may be adaptable to repairing your mast tube. Good luck! https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=62945 |

You may be talking about a scupper. That would not be for the mast. Photo? |

Mr Miller for the W! Thanks man had one off the nub at the bottom and one that was cracked. Surely does have a flat head a lot down inside there. Just have to get a fat tip on there and apply pressure or it will feel molded in just like I thought mine could have been. Surely did come out on both with a fat flat head screw driver and decent ammount of downward pressure while cranking left for loose. Appreciate the info! Couldn’t find anything at all with anyone changing one out by video just a post with a series of pictures showing the thread which had me thinking it was as you said and hunting for this answer as to how. The thread will have sand and all kinds of junk inside there making it a pita to break free if it’s never been pulled before |
