Post subject:  Used Pre-Vantage Revo 13 value

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I'm hoping to be a Hobie Mirage kayak owner soon, but I can only afford a used one at the moment.

Well, I saw a Revo 13 in the classifieds. He's asking $2k which includes a fish finder, bigger rudder and a hobie cart. Haven't gone to check it out yet, but From the pics it looks like it's pre CT Vantage.

Now I wouldn't think of paying $2k for it, but my question is how much do you all think it's worth?

Second hand Hobies in my area seems to command a lot, most times being only a couple hundred dollars less than new, for a boat that's several years old. When a great deal comes along, it usually is snapped up in a couple hours or less.

Thanks in advance!

Hobies tend to hold their value well. Price varies regionally and depends on condition, accessories, time of year, etc. etc. Learn how to read the serial # so you can verify the actual year model. The 2009 and up models have some worthwhile additions -- more robust V-2 Drives and "Click N Go " Drive inserts. If shopping for a 2008 or older, learn how to inspect the "cam columns" for cracks -- they are repairable. Stay away from boats that are not complete (seat, Drive, paddle, functioning rudder, etc.) Use the search feature here to learn more about these things. Welcome to the forum! 8)

There is one in my area (mid east coast) currently listed at $1250 and one for $1000. A 2014 Outback just sold for $1200 or less and one currently listed at $1400.

I see a lot of 2016- 2017 CT seats being sold in the $1700 range.
