Has anyone ever done the AI AMA's on a Revo 16? It looks like it would work. I am not looking to sail with this set up, just looking for the stability and the ability to use the trampoline netting as well.

I have seen plenty do this on pre 2015 models. I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a newer model as long as you are able to access the underside in the hull and add a little extra bracing for support. There are even a few videos of Amas added on Pro Anglers if you search YouTube. Expensive add on if you don't already have an Island...

I’m interested in this as well, different yak. How long are the AI amas? And are there alternatives?

The regular sidekicks are all you really need if Sailing with the Standard sail. Spring Creek makes a nice set (I had them on a non-Hobie)- I just thought they were a hassle to set up. Expandacraft makes good outriggers as well.

With that said- I often go out in my AI with one Tramp/AMA- Stability is super stable and its nice being able to throw everything on the tramp. If price isn't an issue (probably a $600-$700+ option) its worth it. I welcome large Boat wakes :)

While the dimensions are right and technically the xbars would fit, unlike the original Adventure, Revo 16 models do not have the brass threads molded into the boat to bolt the aka X-bars into. So I would be very hesitant to use them on a R16 with a sail, but for regular kayaking use in reasonably calm waters through bolting the xbar brackets with a custom made backing plate might be OK. Emphasize 'might be'

Any updates on this?
I am looking to add outriggers to my PA14, I am looking specifically at the expandacraft 12' outrigger that would allow the use of a 2.5hp outboard.
