Started using an old GT drive i haven't used for a while and noticed quite a substantial clunk as the hubs both contact the idler pulley on both sides on forward extension. Is this a concern other than just annoying, and also is it simply an adjustment somewhere? Drive hasn't been used in 3 years, I dont remember this happening previously. |

Not to ask the obvious, but are the cables at the proper tension? https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=12578 Are the hubs worn such that they are loose on the shaft? I can attest that the copper bushing fix returns a worn hub to better than new condition: https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=35629 |

I tightened the cables anyway,m they could have become slack overtime. Though hand operation seems no different. Buts often different to installed operation. Hubs not worn as it is relatively low usage Actions to consider include filing a bit off hubs/chamfering outer edge of idler / adding spacer washers to hub shaft to separate them better. As it didn't do this before I suspect it could just need cables tightening or something simple. |
