The way my design works, is by having the motor forward of the rod holder which tends to pull the mount down into the holder. You may be in a situation where the motor is pushing the mount forward and up. It's just hard to say without being able to see it in person. It's all about the geometry.
Grab the motor down at the powerhead and push it forward, like it would do if you were under power. What does it try to do?
When I push the powerhead forward it does not feels like it is trying to "climb" out of the rod holder. More like the trolling motor is trying to turn right.

I'm having a hard time making out the position of your mount from the photos. The motor should be attached to the forward side of the mount, not the rear. Which end of the mount, fore or aft, is your motor fastened to?
Motor is at the aft of my mount.
I have already started my version 2 of your mount and will move the motor forward. My question is the tube at the correct position? Still a little confuse about the center line part. Thank you.
