Can you guys please make the 2016 have the limited edition upgrades as standard features:

1. Square Center Hatch
2. Rubberized Mesh Side Pockets
3. Turbo Fins

Thanks!

What ever features are included in a model year change... The decision happens many month before. As of about May... This has been set for 2016 production. These changes are announced in early August to dealers at the OR show.

I'm going to buy a new Outback within the next few weeks. I'm trying to decide if any minor tweaks to the 2016 design are worth it to me to wait or just buy a 2015 now. I called my local Hobie dealer today asking if they knew what changes Hobie is making to the 2016 but they didn't know yet. When will this information be released so consumers can decide 2015 vs. 2016?

Today is September 1. I looked on the Hobie site for the Outback and didn't see any references to the 2016 model. Where can I find out what changes, if any, have been included in the 2016 Outback model?

2016 is mostly a carry-over year for us, since last year nearly all models received major updates.
The changes to all kayaks this year include the new buckle seat fastener. We also have changes to the inflatable series (now have a version of the Vantage Chair) and an all new 11ft i series model http://www.hobiecat.com/mirage/mirage-i11s/

To repeat my earlier post, only change to hard shell Mirage kayaks this year is the new buckle for the Vantage CT seats.

I nabbed great deal on a 2015 Outback at a model year closeout price. It was the last yellow 2015 that ACK had, they said. Can't wait to bring it home. :D

I originally was going to hold off until Demo Days next weekend but after learning the changes were extremely minor, I decided to not wait any longer. I'm so glad I scored on the price for exactly what I wanted. Now if I can just manage to get some good deals on a few accessories next weekend, I'll be a really happy camper.
