Check the drive well for cracks. The pedaling can create stress on the plastic if abused or the pedaling has been too exuberant. Check the bottom for gouges. Scratches from beaching are generally normal wear and tear. Gouges or any penetration of the interior of any kind is a no-no. I mean below the waterline. It's okay to screw holes in the kayak for padeyes, rails, or other accessories.
