Post subject: | Help with Thru Hull Wiring Plug |
I have a 2014 Hobie Sport. I'm replacing my Lowrance with a Garmin. The transducer cable runs through a thru hull wiring plug behind the seat. I had to remove this plug to take out my old Lowrance cabling. This may have been a mistake, but I didn't see a way around it. Now I can't figure out how to put it back in. It has a rubber o-ring and a plastic nut on the inside. The plug screws into it. I can't reach this plug or hole from the inside. Any ideas on how to screw this thing back in? Or any alternative, like loading it up with Goop and plugging it back in. I'm at my wits end. THANK YOU !! |

Did you consider the newer Hobie thru-hull wiring kit? Unless I'm mistaken, the newer version doesn't require a backing lock ring. I think it mounts using three screws and then has various sizes of form-fitting plug openings for the wire(s). |
