About a yr ago I found a local gas station that sells recreational gas (no ethanol). Most of my fuel problems went away.

Picking my 2016 TI up tomorrow. (first one - retired Tandem Outfitter)

Honda 2.3hp comes in 15" and 20" shafts.

Should I buy the 20"? (mount it higher for splash protection, and still not cavitate)
Thoughts on the various motor mounts. I can DIY, wood, PVC etc... but prefer spending on something that looks nice and works perfect. recommendations?

Bunches of us have the short shaft Honda 2.3 on our boats with no issues. Plenty of cool motor mount designs have been posted on this forum.
My motor mount is the cheap skate variety (just pvc tubing, cost maybe $20 bucks and about an hour to make in my garage). My original pvc motor mount I made almost 6 yrs ago and used for 4 yrs pretty much every weekend is still going strong (just hangin in the garage), it looks like crap but hey it still works. If you want to drive down to Sarasota to pick it up, you can have it, I had to make a new one (same basic design) when I went to twin engines.
