Greetings,
I recently purchased a used Hobie Cat that needs a bit of work. I can't find the serial number near the rudder, even with a light sanding to try to reveal them.
I will need to order new sail(s) as well as other parts, but wanted to find out what the year/model was.
Below is a link to pictures if anyone can help.
Thanks so much!

I took a look at your photos - that is a very old H14 (likely the serial number is stamps on the pylon rather than the transom if I were guessing about the vintage - late 60's very early 1970's)- here's the parts guide: https://static.hobiecat.com/digital_assets/14-16_March_2017.pdf?_ga=2.71985747.1365375971.1522075956-907556097.1487723519 (this is a joint guide for H16 and H14 combined)

A new main is:

10990010
SAIL H14 MAIN WHITE
US$ 950.00

If you wanted color we have that too:

10991086
SAIL H14 MAIN CORONADO '08
US$ 1200.00

To order parts just call your Hobie dealer - link: https://www.hobie.com/dealers/

The serial number doesn’t really make a whole lot of difference. Since the boats are one-design, you would purchase the same sail regardless of whether the boat was built 10 years ago or 40 years ago. Also, the very early boats had a serial number stamped on thr front pylon, not engraved in the transom.

Judging by the hull colors and overall condition, I would say it’s very likely well towards the 40 year old end of the spectrum. I would suggest you go over every inch of the hulls very carefully and inspect for soft spots before putting a single penny into that boat.
