Hai all Wife has had a go at a SUP and has elected that she would like to get her own She is 5'1" and 115lbs and wanting to use the SUP on lakes and streams only. Just a beginner and will not surf etc with it. Have come across a second hand Colin McPhillips 9.8. Can't find any info on the unit. Would this be suitable for her as a beginner and as she gets more experience. Or would she be better getting a ATR or a EVA-Lution? Will try and work out how to upload a pic of the unit Cheers and thanks Steven |

Steven - The photos aren't working but that would be a suitable board for someone her size. We still sell a 9'8" Colin model and the dimensions will be very similar if not the same as the older versions. It won't be quite as stable or fast as the ATR or EVAlution, but as a smaller board, it will be lighter and more maneuverable in the water. Great place to start. If she is mostly staying in calm water and just wants to cruise around, see if you can find a 10-4 Venture somewhere. Brendan |
