The 2013 Battle of the Paddle took place last weekend in Dana Point. This is the biggest and most prestigious SUP racing event and huge numbers of both amateur and professional paddlers come out to compete. Here's a photo of the open age group start, with about 450 paddlers on the same course, and then a bouy rounding for the elite division.
