Post subject: | T2 - 2 Piece Mast v 1 Piece Mast ? |
Considering the T2 for use as a Family boat with the Kids ad Wife etc ; but I will have to rig / de-rig / store away from the water the boat each time i use it. I'm wondering if the 2 piece mast makes a big difference to both the storage and rigging aspect of the T2 ? Are there any draw backs (for example, performance?) with the 2 piece mast option ? Thanks in advance for your guidance. Duncan |

There are two parts... but they are glued / riveted together. Not designed to disassemble. |

Hey Matt ; thanks for the note. I may have misunderstood, but I was referring to the "Featured Options" shown on the HobieCat webpage for the T2, which notes that a "2 piece mast" is available. If the 2 piece mast comes pre-assembled / glued & riveted, what is the advantage of the 2 piece over the (presumably) 1 piece mast ? Thanks. |

That is an option in Europe only since the mast is all aluminum, the have a splice they can add. With the US CompTip version... not possible. I notified our web guys to make a change. |
