Since most Hobie rotomolds have the same boring stripe colors and patterns, I want something a little different. I stripped it down and cleaned it with comet to get all the discoloring off. Then taped on some tracing paper and have been coming out with something like this trying to work with sail pattern I'm still working of the final cut and need to finish the front before going further back. I do have the Hobie diamonds to install further back but want to work in some blue around it somehow.

Nicely done. Did you use fusion paint to stick to the plastic or something else?

Are you going to do something to that white ball at the top--I'm probably going to do something to that this season. Bad enough to have everyone know your boat can tip over, but to have it so "moby dick" white is embarassing.

It's vinyl just like the normal stickers that come on the boat. The hardest part is copying the template into the computer to send to the cutting machine.

I'll do something with the Bob, but I don't get embarrassed by it at all. I've had one or two say something about it over the year (with other Hobies.) until one of them rips a sail in our 18' deep lake.

Looks good! I tell people the bob is a radar dome. I've thought of installing navigation lights in mine for night sailing, but haven't figured out switches, batteries, etc.

So far, I come up with a couple of stripe kits but I'm still working with colors and design. It's nice to have such a big area to work with, I'm also learning how to design and cut the vinyl at the same time I'm doing this so I've had a couple of miss cuts or no likes along the way. It's been fun, not as much as finally getting her out to sail.
