The telltales on my jib (and sometimes the ones on the leech of the main) stick to the seams/stitching pretty regularly, making them useless. Do others have this issue? I'm wondering if replacing them with silk ones would help. If so, what's the best way to go about replacing them? Just cut the yarn, but leave the adhesive pad in place, and place new telltales in the exact same spot? place them somewhere else? Any insight is appreciated.

These are easily replaced with fresh one. You can sometimes get a bit more life out of older ones by trimming away the worn ends, usually that's why they stick.
Replacements are available - here's the info
