I haven't been around this board long enough to catch a picture of Matt but I just pictured him in a wind tunnel with his head poised beside a Hobie Bob while engineers measure the effects on both.

I removed the pad for the reasons Matt mentioned - mostly for windage though.

Thanks for both Matt and NevertoooldH18 for your replies. Well, in mid 40F water I leak tested my mast today and I'm happy to say that she is so air tight and boyant I had a tough time keeping her underwater long enough to look for bubbles (air escaping). Once out of the water, only what water was in the bold rope track ran out.

That ad shows Mama and Baby Bobs.... both readily available. The original Bob (rotates on a shaft) is the one that is NLA.
