I received an email asking if any hardware was on the hulls when I put them on the scales. I went back through some of the photos to see, and it looks like the following items were still attached to the hulls: • eyestraps & fairleads for the trapeze bungees • trampoline tracks • Anchor Plates at the Front Crossbars Looks like everything else had been stripped off at that point. I got pretty excited when I started putting the boat back together and forgot to weigh the hulls before re-assembling (sorry). It doesn’t seem like they weight much more after the restoration though and the boat is really solid now. ~Tad |

The tramp rail just rivets on with washers backing it up on the underside of the hull lip. I re-riveted mine a few years ago because the rails had become noticeably loose, and I re-used the existing washers. If you replace the washers, the new ones need to be rolled or curled to match the shape of the hull lip. srm and others on this forum have used larger washers in the past and recommended doing the same, but you need to pre-shape the washers if you go that route. I kindof wish that I had, however, because the tramp rail loosened up again not long after I re-riveted it. I think a certain amount of "wiggle" is to be expected from the tramp rail, particularly on such old boats. |

The only time I ever re-riveted a tramp rail, I re-used the existing washers. I agree with your assessment though, the rails eventually loosened up again anyway. I would not bother trying to tighten them unless the looseness is causing some kind of serious issue. Once the boat is rigged and the tramp is tight, you won't notice the looseness. sm |
