Anyone know -- when is the dolphin striker adjusted correctly on the Tiger? How do you know when it is too tight or too loose?

too loose if you can wiggle it around

too tight if you have more than a couple mm's of prebend in the x-bar

Thanks Greg. Let me clarify. I have not adjusted the dolphin striker since I received the boat. I have sailed it for two years. This last weekend I reached down and grabbed the dolphin striker bars -- they wiggled in my hands, flexing easily. The dolphin striker post is solid. I read your advice as saying to tighten the bars by lowering the post until the bars are stiff and before I get to a couple of mm's of crossbar prebend?

Sorry for restated what might be the obvious -- I just want to make sure we are talking about which parts are not to wiggle (the post versus the bar).

Thanks for your help.

The post will always be stiff as it is locked in from top and bottom of the crossbar. The rod (running side to side) can get loose. Adjust the post down to get the 1-2mm prebend in the crossbar. Really just a visble bend from straight to be sure there is a tight rod.
