On the hulls of this redline 18 I am getting ready for the season, I have some cracks that are leaking underneath the rear crossbar on the underside of the lip. I would like to add a reinforcement plate like the front crossbar which means I need to put in an access port somewhere to do this.

Is it ok to put an access port on top of the hull behind the rear cross bar. Is there any other way to attach this plate (ie screws instead of bolts).

Thanks for your help guys.

A port behind the rear crossbar is the way to do it. 4" diameter is all you need, don't go bigger than 5".

It will also give you a way to add glass inside the hull if necessary to repair the cracks.
