Here's a pic of how I attach my Telo-cat to the end of my spin pole.

After the spin is all rigged up and ready to go I simply insert the Telo-cat and then tape up all the sharp edges. You can also cut a fairly good size slit in a tennis ball (or a foam ball as I do) and then insert it over the entire end of the mount and then tape it on to cover the sharp edges. I will try and remember to take some pics of this next time I have the boat set up. If you don't have a plastic end cap for your spin pole, do a search on google and you'll find many places that sell various size plastic caps (can't remember where I bought mine). The end cap fits tight enough into the ID of the pole that there is no need to glue it or fasten it in any other way. This allows you to easily turn the plug inside of the tube to allow you to line up the vane rod vertically.

Boy I'd still be careful with that even if it is taped up. I had a beginner on board driving while I was dousing the spin. Needless to say we went "shrimpen" with the spin. 6 accidental gybes later it was all put away just fine, but if my wind vane was on there like that I would need a new spin.

Good luck,

Adam
