I was starting to re-lace my tramp today when I noticed a small tare where the bolt is. It's on the bow right where the bolt track begins so I'm not sure if I should be worried about this and if there is even any way to fix this or keep it from getting worse. For all I know is it's been there a while and I just now noticed it. I will note that it's not broken all the way through.

Any ideas or suggestions? :?

I've seen damage like that before. I believe it happens when the corner of the aluminum trampoline track digs in to the tramp, right where the tramp feeds in. Probably would be good to remove the tramp and use a file to put a generous radius on the corner of the track. In fact, I think Hobie may have modified the track at one point to improve the edge/corner.

As far as fixing the tramp, I doubt it's necessary to do so, but if you're really concerned about it, you could probably have a canvas shop stitch a piece of 1-1/2" or 2" webbing wrapped around the bolt rope in that area. Before doing that, though, I would probably mark the tear with a sharpie marker and see if it grows at all during the season. My guess is it will be fine as long as you just clean up the edge of the aluminum track.

Thanks for the input! The tramp is not all the way laced yet so now is better than ever to file the round and smooth. I will mark it so I can see if it progress and wouldn't have thought of that.

Second the Tramp Clamps! They are cheap and really work. By the way, daylight savings is here and sailing should be great in Biloxi. Come-on, pack em up and head to Midwinters.
