Cat Sailor Returns....

I have owned and raced a hobie 16 for about 15 years. Sold it in the mid 90's and have been racing fairly competitive monohulls. I just sold my Melges 24 and have returned to cats. Two weeks ago i purchased a Hobie 18. Can you suggest any books that are performance minded and give tuning tips for Hobie 18 specific to rig tune, mast rake, crew weight position on different points of sail, etc.

A book I borrowed recently was Catamaran Racing: For the 90's by Rick White and Mary Wells. It is not totally Hobie 18 specific but it does have a chapter on the 18. It is really well written and I learned some new tips even though I have been sailing my 18 for 7+ years.

There is an old manual called the Hobie 18 performance manual by Phil Bergman. It is sort of out dated but much info to be had. The section in the affore mentioned book is written by one of the Alters'. That entire book is full of good info, Cat Racing for the 90's by Rick White and Mary Wells.
