Hi Beach Bum,
Keep the sand out of your blocks.
If it is choppy or more waves than you normally sail in, rake the mast back two or three holes. Trapeze one or two steps further aft. Sheet harder to keep the windward hull out of the water so it is over the tops of the waves.
If you are launching in the surf, put centreboards and rudders half down before setting off to stop slipping sideways. Keep the jib in firm and don’t over power the main until rudders are fully down.
