Hello H18 sailors
My h18 comptip luff track is cracked and I have a spare. QUESTION
My luff track appears to be the upgrade with the last foot or so being of metal but the plastic part of it needs repairs I saw a diagram where it is simply pried off. Is this applicable to the H18?
Thanks in advance Image

You should be able to pry the old one off and snap the new one on. Just be careful not to chip the channel in the fiberglass section that the track snaps into. They also claim you can snap the aluminum section on and off, but I never had any luck doing that and always ended up removing the mast head casting and sliding the track out that way. If you do end up taking off the masthead, be cautious about driving it out of the end of the mast. You can split the mast if you’re not careful.
