Post subject:  Hull Ingress of Water

Hi,

I bought a secondhand tiger last year which was the national champions boat here in Ireland.

One hull had to be replaced after 6 months as it came from a bad batch and the seam went. The previous owner shimmed the seams in an effort to smoothen the underside of the hulls and though I have checked the hulls rigerously and repaired any chips with gelcoat my port hull (the one that is original has a slight but annoying leak.

Does anyone else have this? Could it be from the daggerboard casing or is it coming in through the fixing holesin the beams?

Any help much appreciated.

Aubyn

Thoroughly check the daggerboard trunk, especially at the bottom. Even the smallest looking pin hole can be a void that will allow water to get in the hull. From experience...
