we have had our hobie eclipse a few months, what a great water machine. I do a lot of stand up paddle race training on a sup race board. one of the amazing things about the eclipse is the ability to draft from it going up wind. when it is really windy 15 to 20 mph my wife heads up wind on the eclipse with minimal effort. I draft behind the wide profile of the eclipse. the trick is to stay about 1 foot of the tail of the eclipse. if you do this you save at least 40% effort going into the wind and travel into the wind with ease. then later when you turn to go back down wind you have the sweet ride surfing the waves. we both have a fun time. try this and you will have a wonderful experience...............tom
