Polished and carnuba waxed my board two weeks ago. I know every scratch and Nick on this board.

Today after 7 mile paddle, I found about 18" of the high end epoxy product delaminating:

It is about 4" wide, and there is a straight line along the right side that perfectly parallels the edge of the board.

There are NO scratches or dings anywhere near this. Interesting how rough the delam looks. There is no crack on the skin, but pressing near the straight line does flex this mess.

Will be taking this to my Hobie dealer this week, not an acceptable situation. I hope the factory can make this look new or at least last month again...

Will be posting more pics...

Did you file a claim with your dealer?

Hi Matt,

Not yet, just started a new job, so it will be later this week.

Very surprised to see this surface blem appear.

I will update on my claim filing.

Thanks!

Update:

Took the board to my local supportive Hobie store, and when I pulled out the board the defect disappeared!

You could still see the very straight line faintly running parallel to the board's center, but the roughness was gone.

The board made a trip to the factory, but nothing to see here folks.

I will keep an eye out for further developments...
