We have a 12' Hobie Eclipse Mirage that we bought when they were first introduced 6/2016. This weekend the idler cable and one of the chain assemblies broke. It has been used every weekend in fresh water since we got it. My questions are: 1) When searching for parts, I often see V2 next to the part number. If we bought in 2016, does the require v2 parts? 2) When looking at repair videos, most are showing repairs/maintenance videos for the miragedrive used for kayaks not the eclipse. Are most of the parts that look the same compatible between the different models of the miragedrive? 3) For the most part it does not seem too difficult to replace the different cables yourself. It seems like you just need to deal with a couple of nuts. Am I missing something? Is DYI advised? We are about 2 hours away from the closest Hobie Dealer. |

You would have V2 parts. The drive below the pedals is a GT drive. Mostly the same parts, same repair methods. 81203001 IDLER CABLE V2 (18.5”) 8050111 NUT |
