Post subject:  Roof rack
Who is carrying their compass on a roof rack?

Any pics of your setups ?

Im currently looking at a PA or Compass (had a PA on a trailer 4 yrs ago), If the compass is easy to load on the roof then will save some $$$ and go the compass.

My only concern is the live well, 2 rod holders and fish finder I will have to take off as I assume you can't carry them up right travelling?

I carry mine on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a hullavator that makes it so easy to load.

I found it too risky to load by myself as its pretty bulky and doesnt have much to hold onto unless you install some handles.
So I got a Rhino Rack T-Loader. Works pretty well. Still glad this is not a 100 pounds kayak.

also put some Rhino-Rack Wrap Pads with Board Straps on my crossbars to avoid scratching and this one comes with top notch straps.

With this set up it is easy to load on top of my small SUV.
Yes, you gotta take a lot of your rigging off.... but I use the Ram mounts which fit into the rails so its no big deal.

My rig is lifted, and don’t have much trouble. A trailer always makes it easier, though.

When I ride two kayaks, I use Thule Hull-a-Port Pro 837, Otherwise I use Thule Kayak Carrier 874
