As a dealership that sells a lot of Compasses and installs a lot of those hatches, we find that roughly one in ten will be a bad for that bucket right out of the packet, possibly due to slight hull deformation due to packing hulls into containers (shipped from the USA to Aus). Generally not difficult to work around it with a heat gun.
Not long ago Hobie ran out of these buckets for a good while and for that reason we asked Berleypro to design something that would offer the same functionality. As a part of that request we suggested they be made with just a little less depth to ensure they would fit them all, Compasses, Outbacks, etc. And it works a treat. Doesn't have quite the same volume obviously, but otherwise its equally good
