What kind of fishing are you doing? Bluegills or red snapper?

I fish for medium size stripers, perch, speckled trout in the Chesapeake bay region. I bought the ForEverlast Inc. Generation 2 Non-Snag Floating Fishing Landing Net on Amazon. Thanks for your consideration.

The problem with mesh nets and rubber-covered-mesh nets is that you end up spending a lot of time getting hooks untangled from the net. So regardless of the species and size of fish you will be targeting, get a rubber net. You'll be happier, and will spend more time fishing and less time wrestling with your net.

I should have mentioned that I fish for large German Brown trout, Steelhead and Chinook Salmon, so my net of choice is https://www.egofishing.com/products/s2- ... ubber-net/

The net is not cheap, but its one that I will not need to replace for years. The innovative handle extension really works well and the deep rubber pocket insures larger fish don't escape the net and the hooks are not a problem.
I also have a 8' long, 3/16" nylon safety line tied on to the end of the net handle and secured to my PA-14.......I won't lose it!
