Twenty years of sailing with a hot stick, and the airlines and security folks are not being cooperative.
If I want to use my own hot stick, it means special packaging, around $100 in excess bag charges and the possibility that baggage handlers will lose a simple carbon fibre set of tubes.

We are sailing Nov 6, 7 and 8 in the Great Grand Masters.

Anyone lend me/rent me a hot-stick please and thank you?

Best is to email me at "lunnjohn 'at' magma 'dot' ca"

See you all in two weeks.

If anyone is passing near me, I'd be happy to send mine down.

Isn't shipping it an option, too? Looks like it costs about $15 to send a 50"x4" 5-pound tube from here to Florida.

Fedex, on a cross-border shipment, want CAD$142 to ship to Captiva, and that's a one way fee.

Oh right, cross-border is a PITA. If you can't come up with anything else I will ship mine to FL. It's six or seven years old, great shape, I'll put a bit of hair spray on the foam grip because it slid off once this year.
