I'm about 20 mins north of Minden.
I bought an extra parts boat a few years ago and have the mast you're looking for.
It's been sitting in the shed since I got it....I think it's probably 1975-1980. One piece aluminum. Straight.
I'll be up at the lake on the May long weekend if you want to come and take a look.
Or you can wait, and I'll take some pics and post them.

If I remember right 85 was the last year for Alum masts on the 16's. Around 88 or 89 Hobie outlawed them for racing so many of them got chopped and comp tipped. I snapped a mast on my 81 and had to get a comp tip to replace it. Not as good as the old mast in my view. Hobie ended up with a bunch of left over 85'd and made racers a killer deal for 16's in a box with alum masts. Bought one and sold my 81. Then a few years later they made us chop them and install comp tips (at Hobies expense) so we had a comp tip party at the local dealers and cut up a bunch of masts on a Saturday. As long as you watch for overhead wires I'd take the old mast over a comp tip anyday!

Hey folks,

Seems I'm a bit late to the party, but I also have a complete mid-70's boat I'm parting out. If anybody still needs a solid aluminum 1-piece mast (or any other parts from that era) I have one for sale. Boat and parts are in Rochester, NY so do-able from Ontario once the border opens up again.

Thanks!

I too, need a mast and boom. TS Isias took out both with a falling tree limb. I'm located in SE Connecticut, but will drive up to 300 miles to pick up.

I've been looking on craigslist and e-bay and finding nothing in New England.

Hi Thor,

I still have my mast and boom available here in Rochester, NY if you're interested. Looks like I'm a tad bit outside your 300 mile range, but I might be able to meet you a ways down the thruway or something to shorten up your trip a bit. This was a mid-70's boat so both are solid aluminum, no anodizing. Let me know if you're interested and I can send you some pics. Thanks!

I've got a black-anodized older H16 boom (2-brackets) in Northern Delaware. Not sure if that's w/in 300mi of CT.
