You are in for a treat. I just upgraded to a new h16 from an '86, and what a world of difference... From the new sails to the rudder system... Life is good!

Post subject:  2004 Hobie 16 - worlds boat

Speaking of new boats: Has anyone purchased a 2004 Hobie 16 - worlds boat? With a trailer and the complete/standard setup, what would be a reasonable price?

The dealer wanted 10k last fall but has lowered the price to $9,500. That seems a bit much for a boat (#56) that has sat outside for 1 year and is slightly used (rough rudders, slightly worn hulls). Would one be better just ordering a new Hobie 16? Do the dealers have a few dollars to play with in terms of accepting a lower offer? Thanks for your help...

I paid $7,000 without a trailer. The dealer I used wanted more boats out there and isn't making much profit on the boats.

It is worth every penny!!!

If anyone is looking for a pre-owned H 16 in Southern Jersey let me know.

I'll be posting it in the classified section next week.

Well,

I picked up the boat on Sat as planned, It is sooooooo nice!!! Man the rigging upgrades from the older boat, makes the purchase worthwhile! The H-20 tiller style connectors are great, the rudder sysem has no slop in it whatsoever. The rudder cams work like they should :D Brand new cripsy sails,

Now the only problem was... THERE WANSN'T ANY WIND HERE IN SAN DIEGO THIS WEEKEND!!!!

Nextweekend will be racing on Lake Arrowhead, so I will have pictures then.

Well the Lake Arrowhead regatta, was a dissapointment!

There wasn't very much wind, and it was clocking 360 around the lake. Very strange, once I even was in irons on a complete circle.. It was VERY frustrating!

The following weekend at Big Bear was allot more fun, The new boat certainly moves!

I will post pictures on my .mac site as soon as I get them!
