The new mast steps apparenly have holes in them to keep the mast pivot bearing in place,can the old steps have holes drilled in them,how many and where? |

Post subject: | Chip Keeper |
Chip Keeper. This is something that Dan Ketterman did to his boat years ago. He drilled 5 (I think) holes in a circle pattern about 1/4-1/2" out from the edge of the post. Inside the outer chip dimension. They were about 1/8" diameter holes. Drill them about 1/8 inch deep. Idea is the chip squishes into all if these holes at that virtually locks it in place. At the 16 Worlds last year... we never had to replace a chip. They even stay in place when trailering... but! betteer be sure they are in the right place to start with. |
