Here she is out of the paint shop and two of the 4 decals that I will apply to her. What a difference! I cant stop looking at it. If ya notice in the back ground I have painted the mast and it looks awesome 8) Gregg, Cobra Boats in Headland, AL painted it with gloss white Gel Coat. The paint job ran me $200. Not bad for that price.

Here she is and thx guys, more to come soon...........

THATS beautiful - so it's not really "painted?" it's re-gel coated?
I'd pay that in a flash if I could find that price locally. It bothers me when my hulls are super white.

For got to mention that I still have to put carpet on the rails and some other odds and ends. By the way if any of you have a used tramp that is still in good condition drop me a line or give me a call. 334-714-2476

It had an old one piece tramp and I cant stand it.

Thanks,
Joshua

Here is some more work I have done to the boat. Put one of the rudders on and the flat black and gloss white look great together. Tell me what you think!

The boat looks super, one question why did you put the Hobie decals on the inside of the hull at the front? I thought they were supposed to go on the outside front corners.

Joshua,

You chose paint over anodizing for the spars, what influenced your decision on paint? Was it cost or difficulty getting someone to anodize? Ben

You can see here what I am going for as far as the decals. Small Hobie logos are on the inside of the hulls and the larger ones will go on the out side of the hulls.

so how tight is the frame right now? If you lift one hull up, how far do you lift it up before the other lifts up? Is it really really loose?

Cheaper for me to paint than the other method. Also nobody around my area does any anodizing. As far as the frame goes, I don't have the four bolts in so it is very loose. I just have it asembled for my pleasure 8) I hope to have a tramp soon and I will tension her on up, much like I do to my wife!

Thanks,
Joshua

Wow, looks new, especially the shot from the back with the white rudders on flat black castings!

My 1980 cat still has pretty close to the same fresh yellow that she had when my family bought her back then, I would need some gel coat touch-up in some places to fix some scratches up, but otherwise shes always been stored inside. I need to find out if a shop can blend gel coat color well or if you need to coat the entire hull to get a uniform look. Thx, Ben
