I cut a snow board ($10. at a thrift store) in thirds and then secured the front and back thirds of the board with screws and Home Depot metal 2 inch "L" brackets into the tip of each hull. I originally made it for the H-16 I had and it REALLY worked Great = popped the hull out of the water within the first six inches of the tip being submerged. When I sold the 16 I took them off and put them on my Getaway. Truthfully I never got the hulls on the Getaway to submerge = it's that stable and the hulls are bigger have lots more air in them than the 16 did. I would send you a picture but it's snowing here and the boat is covered and in an outdoor storage yard.

Ok, so they hated these over at the beachcats forum.
https://www.thebeachcats.com/forums/viewtopic/topic/18710

But, they seem to actually work for us.

The ones from Hobie are 55 square inches.
The ones I made (and I forgot to mention that I did cut a "V" in them to interface with the hull) they are 183.5 square inches.
Almost three and a half times the size of Hobie's.
And the tips of the hulls don't dip down more than 6 inches before they pop right back up !!!
Never had them act in reverse like someone mentioned.
Because the tips of the snowboard are angled upwards and "maybe" create a vacuum/dead spot on top = the same way an airplane wing does (Bernoulli's Principle) which causes a wing to rise regardless of the angle of attack of the wing.
Maybe ??? Maybe not = either explanation is irrelevant = THEY DEFINITELY DO WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did post a picture of them somewhere on the Hobie Forum website after I made them.
