Thank you! I am pretty proud of it, despite how old and basic it is.

Yours is new compared to mine, check my sig :D

Your sail colour still works today, mine screams the 70s, but I still like it. When I'm on the lake though, my friends have no trouble spotting me.

I like your 'classic 70s' sails! Those were the colors of all the kitchen countertops back then, too!

I have been reading a lot, and realized that rigged my boat all wrong. I had the rigging tight, and then put up the jib. I just realized that the jib is supposed to hold the mast up, not the forestay. That explains why it fit so loose, there wasn't any tension on the jib in my photo.

Now I know that I need to rig it loose, and use the Jib to tighten things up. Everyone agree?

Yes, I have flashbacks of our kitchen and livingroom when growing up. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind my colours, but they do scream their age.

I love that sail color. Super nice.

An anchor? A real anchor? I saw a Hobie anchor for sail on ebay. Never thought of anchoring a Hobie. Now I'm wondering how well it would work. Might work really well for my beach raiding.

It wasn't a Hobie brand anchor, just an old one I had around. I used a rope with a float on it and a caribiner so I could leave it in the water while sailing. When I get back to the cottage, I would just clip it to the base of the jib where the bridles come together. It worked great, and left room to let it just blow nose into the wind.

I am out here today and was hoping to sail but it is cold, raining and overcast. If it doesn't clear up by 3pm, I am going sailing anyway!

I was just wondering how long I have had my boat, and found this post! I can't believe it's been 7.5 years already. I still sail the same boat, although have replaced almost everything but the hulls and frame. I now have new sails, all running rigging, and bought an old trailer. Standing rigging is still original, and I usually get to about half of the races around the state each year. I still love it! Here's hoping that spring comes early in Michigan!!

Glad to hear you are still sailing the same 16.

I just got into sailing past year and my 1st one was a redline 14t. It didn't take me long to want another one and I bought a 16. I forsee me sailing for many many years now that I have the bug.

I was thinking about an ice boat but the last couple years in new Hampshire the lakes and ponds have not been very safe till pretty late in the season.

Like you I am itching to get out sailing again. I live about 10 miles from the ocean so I COULD go there but sailing the atlantic in the winter alone.. not ready for that yet!

I am really glad to hear from you, as I get out to New Hampshire about every other month for work in the Manchester area, but always try to get to Portsmouth for a dinner. Beautiful area.
