I had noted that in one of the previous posts, the sail numbers 65xxx meant it was built in the 80s. I can't find any serial number, only a cleaner part of the front cross post where it likely had resided. The S/N on the trailer is also gone. The sail number is 2331. Seriously, how old is this boat. I fixed a foot long gash in one of the hulls and almost have the correct setup for the mainsheet. I took it out in light weather and it was tuned like a bicycle with two bent wheels. It is really fun. I just wondered if anyone knew how old it might be and what are the top three things to work on to make it sail better/not break apart.

A sail number does not relate to the serial number, but it can be used to guess a boats age.

I would say that this boat is pre- 1973.

The serial number would be on the forward pylon posts, outboard. It would be a 4 digit number.

For more serial number questions see our FAQ section.
