End of last year, took my boat out, removed the mast bearing, put it in the pocket of my waiters and somehow still lost it. ( had the same black plastic molded bearing for years )
Looking online through all the hobie catalogs I don't see the type that I have anywhere. All I see is the package of 3 or 100 of the thin white bearings.( I hated those, because they would work their way out of the casting )
It was a black molded 1/8 to 3/16 thick cup with a cylinder looking tit on the bottom of it, in fact I had to drill a 1/4 inch x 1/4 inch deep hole in the mast mount casting so it would fit in there nice.

Anyone know what I'm refering to?

Probably need to call the dealer and see If they still stock them. Thats where I got it from years ago. I'm not sure if I ever remember seeing it in the parts catalogs now that I think of it.
Any knowledgable reponses would help.....Thanks

We quit carrying that kind. They didn't really work well. The standard Teflon chips work best.

The "tit" was there to glue it into the cup. Since 2004 we have modified the mast step cup to have a series of small dimples around the inside of the chip diameter. As the chip presses into the cup, they lock into the dimples. Works great!

11110005 pkg of three chips.

How to do the chip keeper:
