The luff wire on the H16 makes it ackward to handle when not raised or when folding to stow away.

Read on a sailmaking book that luff wires on head sails and storm jibs are being replaced with low stretch kevlar or spectra rope.

Can us hobie sailors do this with our jibs?

Thanks!

Everybody I know rolls their jibs up, so the wire is no big deal.

You could do it, but it would not be legal for racing.
