This one on eBay looks to be good quality. I don't think it's trailerable though. It's in Germany so it takes about a month to receive it.

I have a Sailor's Tailor cover for my Laser and it has held up very well (it's over 10 years old).

The problem with trailerable covers, and that Sailor's Tailor one in particular, is that all that loose material flutters in the slipstream. It will wear through, and remove the gloss from the gel coat where it flutters agains the boat. The fluttering also decreases your gas mileage.

Everytime I used my trailerable covers on the road, there would be blue fuzz over everything whenI took them off - that was the cover slowly destroying itself.

If you want to protect your hulls from dirt, etc. on a long road trip, it's better to wrap them with pallet wrap and cut it off when you reach your destination. Give the rest of the boat a good wash.

Thanks for the info. I'm not planning to use it for trailering. Just storage.

Has anyone ever bought one of these covers from Germany? The guy says it will be delivered within 10-14 days to anywhere in the US. Looks like great quality price-wise compared to the covers available in the US.

Nice covers, but in my neck of the woods, anything attached to the boat itself may become more of a boat launcher! :D. I stopped using a full cover after hurricane Earl-both boats got tossed, one with trailer and all! I just do the blue tarp and tent stake things now.

Dave,

Was this your Hobie in the tree after hurricane Earl?

Nah, mine didn't fly quite THAT high! My 16 still was attached to the trailer, as that one appears to be. Found it out by the road with the trailer on top, surprisingly with no damage beyond a rip in the tramp (and shredded boat cover)! The 14 wasn't so lucky. one of the tiedowns snapped and the buckle damaged the hull. It cartwheeled into the front yard, but the only damage was done by the tiedown. I'm way more careful prior to storms now!

I bought the Hobie Getaway cover from Hobie, the generic cut to fit one. It was still over $200. Totally unsatisfactory. Had stick on velcro that came off in the sun, and after a rainstorm, I realized that both tramps were full of hundreds of gallons of water and sagging alarmingly. I cut slots in both front and back tramp covers, so the water would drain. I gave up on it. Now I pay to keep the boat in a storage garage on the trailer.
