I found I could get 'sailcloth' peel and stick material from sailrite! Works great in my vinyl sign cutter... this was a test I did last year to see how it would hold up. (no worries!) close |

Hey long as I posted the pic - what are the grommets for horizontally in the sail? Seems I recall seeing some ropes, knotted there hanging down? What would they be used for? The ones just over the red line. (3) |

you just let them hang then and use as reefing handles? (softening a gibe? etc)? |

Actually, before leaving the beach in heavy weather, lower the main halyard until the reefing lines are close to the boom, (your halyard probably has a second stopper for this setting), fold or roll lower part of the sail on the boom, then tie the lines through the grommets around the boom to reduce the sail area. Cool good to know, one of my sails has the ropes installed. And I've always wondered what the 2nd halyard catch was on there for. thank you sir. |
