I'm a newer H16 owner and have not been able to find any information about the H16 and wind speeds. I have found that for me sailing in less than 7 mph is just boring. I have not sailed it in more than 14 mph yet because the wind has not been here yet. What is the max wind speed a "sane" person would sail a H16?

Define A Sane Person!!!
Actually it depends on you skill, experience & comfort level. Don't do anything that you're not comfortable doing. You'll know when you're ready to go extremely fast in high winds.
Some things that will lower your risks:
2 or 3 Knowledgable crew members, reef the main, travel out, sheet out, point high. The boat must be in good working order.
Be patient & good luck!

I am somewhat new to this too, but I have spent alot of time on my boat this summer. It is a 14T but close to the same.

When I first got it I was afraid to go out in winds over 10-15, and at the top of that range I got nervous. Now, I look for days when it might hit 30. No matter how big it gets you can always point upwind hard and travel out.

But let me tell you, once you lift a hull the first time you will have trouble with light wind, not that you won't be able to sail in it but you will always be looking for more. When I am out in light stuff, I will got to the downwind side and hike out lightly to lift one hull out. I can cruise like this for hours, but watch out for gust, they will tip you fast.

Just do what you feel comfortable with and with time that will increase!

And what ever you do HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!
